Major Bureaucratic Reshuffle in Jammu & Kashmir Administration

In a significant administrative rejig, the Jammu & Kashmir government has reassigned key IAS officers across crucial departments to strengthen governance and streamline development efforts. Dr. Ashish Chandra Verma has been appointed as the Financial Commissioner (ACS), Tourism Department, and will additionally oversee the Planning, Development and Monitoring Department as its Administrative Secretary. Anil Kumar Singh takes charge as the new Principal Secretary, Public Works (R\&B) Department, and will continue to hold additional charge of the Mining Department, ensuring continuity in infrastructure and resource development.

Further augmenting the administrative machinery, Yasha Mudgal has been entrusted with the Youth Services and Sports Department, while Sarmad Hafeez will now serve as Commissioner/Secretary, Social Welfare Department, focusing on inclusive social initiatives. Talat Parvez Rohella steps in as Chairman, Bureau of Public Enterprises, aiming to bring enhanced efficiency in PSU governance. Meanwhile, Bhupinder Kumar has been posted as Resident Commissioner, J\&K Government in New Delhi, retaining key additional responsibilities including Hospitality & Protocol Department, and Census and Citizen Registration for J\&K/Ladakh. Ananth Dwivedi, currently leading the State Health Agency and Ayushman Bharat Digital Health Mission, will now also hold the additional charge of Additional Secretary, Revenue Department, reflecting a multi-pronged leadership approach across departments.
