In a collaborative move to uplift project-affected communities, NLC India Limited (NLCIL) and the National Power Training Institute (NPTI) have launched a special skill development programme at NPTI’s Southern Region Centre in Neyveli, Tamil Nadu. Inaugurated on June 5, 2025, this joint initiative aims to provide a Post Graduate Diploma in “Renewable Energy and Grid Interface Technology” for 25 selected Project Affected Persons (PAPs).

The course, supported through NLCIL’s Rehabilitation and Resettlement budget with an allocation of ₹65.17 lakhs, was formally launched by Dr. Tripta Thakur, Director General, NPTI, in the presence of key dignitaries including Samir Swarup, Director (HR), and Shri Venkatachalam M, Director (Power), NLCIL. This strategic industry-academia partnership seeks to empower local youth with job-oriented training in the growing renewable energy sector, aligning with the national ‘Skill India’ initiative and promoting inclusive development.
