The Central Government has announced a fresh round of appointments to key police leadership positions, assigning experienced IPS officers to head three premier institutions. Alok Kumar Mittal, a 1993-batch IPS officer, has been appointed as the Director General of the Bureau of Police Research and Development (BPR&D).
Another officer from the same batch, Amit Garg, will take charge as the Director of the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB). Meanwhile, 1994-batch IPS officer Sujeet Pandey has been entrusted with the responsibility of leading the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy (SVPNPA) as its Director.
The latest appointments are aimed at strengthening policing, criminal intelligence systems, and the training framework for India’s police leadership.
