NIRL & APDCL sign joint venture agreement for development of Solar Power Project

In a significant move to enhance energy security in Assam, a Joint Venture Agreement has been signed between NLC India Renewables Limited (NIRL), a subsidiary of NLC India Limited, and Assam Power Distribution Company Limited (APDCL). The ceremony took place in Guwahati and marks both organizations’ commitment to developing sustainable energy solutions for Assam. The agreement aims to create a Joint Venture Company to develop 1000 MW of green energy projects in Assam, with NIRL holding a 51% share and APDCL holding 49%. NIRL will bring its renewable energy expertise, while APDCL will manage land acquisition, regulatory approvals, and infrastructure development. This collaboration will address the state’s energy needs and contribute to India’s renewable energy goals, supporting the country’s energy transition and sustainable growth.
