A recent study by Case Western University reveals a concerning link between gabapentin, a common drug for nerve pain and epilepsy, and an increased risk of dementia and mild cognitive impairment. Researchers found that individuals prescribed gabapentin for lower back pain were significantly more likely to develop these cognitive issues within ten years, especially with frequent prescriptions.
